Phrasis is designed to keep your app content on your Apple device. It does not require an account or use advertising, behavioural tracking, analytics SDKs, or a Quiet Harbour Inc. service that receives your app content.
1. Scope
This policy describes how Quiet Harbour Inc. handles information in connection with the Phrasis app, its app extensions, product support, and related App Store listing.
2. App content
Phrasis processes material you choose to add so it can provide the features you request. That material may contain personal information. Processing occurs on your device, and Quiet Harbour Inc. does not receive your app content through Phrasis.
3. Storage
Finished and unfinished work is stored in an encrypted local library. Phrasis does not provide a company-operated cloud backup or synchronization service. Temporary voice audio is discarded after transcription.
Originals and copies may remain outside Phrasis when you use Photos, Files, Calendar, another app, or an export destination. Those copies are controlled by you and the applicable service.
4. Device permissions
Depending on the features you use, Phrasis may request access to the microphone, speech recognition, camera, Photos, Files, Calendar, location, or notifications. Access is used only to provide the feature you choose. Optional permissions can be changed in Phrasis or Apple system settings.
Phrasis does not maintain a continuous location history or transmit your location to Quiet Harbour Inc. It adds information to Calendar only at your direction.
5. Apple services and purchases
Phrasis uses Apple platform services for on-device processing and may use StoreKit for purchases. Apple processes purchases under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Quiet Harbour Inc. does not receive your payment-card details.
6. Sharing and external services
Phrasis does not share your app content automatically. If you choose to copy, export, send, save, or otherwise transfer material, you select the information and destination. The recipient or destination service handles that copy under its own terms and privacy practices.
7. Information you send to us
If you contact Quiet Harbour Inc., we receive your contact details, message, and anything you choose to include. A diagnostic report is created and sent only at your direction and is designed to exclude app content. Do not send material that you are not authorized to disclose.
We use information you send us to respond, provide support, protect Phrasis, and comply with law. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it to service providers acting for us, when required by law, to protect rights or security, or as part of a corporate transaction.
8. Retention and deletion
App content remains on your device until you delete it or remove Phrasis. Removing Phrasis does not delete copies stored elsewhere. Because Quiet Harbour Inc. does not receive your local library, we cannot access, recover, correct, or delete it for you.
Information sent directly to us is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, legal, or business purposes.
9. Health records
Phrasis must not be used for patient records, personal health information, health cards, or health numbers. Phrasis is designed to detect and block material that appears to contain this information from being stored or used further within the App. Detection is a protective measure, not a guarantee or a representation that Phrasis complies with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 or another regulated health-information regime. Source copies outside Phrasis may remain.
10. Security
Phrasis uses safeguards appropriate to its local-first design, including encrypted local storage and Apple platform protections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and review material before exporting or sharing it.
11. Your rights and choices
You control the material added to Phrasis, optional permissions, sharing, exports, and local deletion. For personal information you have sent directly to Quiet Harbour Inc., you may request access, correction, or deletion, subject to applicable law.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as Phrasis, platform requirements, or applicable law changes. We will publish the revised policy and its effective date on this page and provide any additional notice required by law.
